Aluminum stearate

Aluminum stearate

Aluminum stearate is a metal soap based on stearic acid and aluminum. This product is used industrially as a thickener, water-repellent agent, anti-caking agent, and rheology modifier in a wide variety of formulations. It is suitable for use in, among other things, paints, varnishes, greases, lubricants, sealants, inks, and construction chemical systems.

Thanks to its water-repellent properties and gelling action, aluminum stearate helps improve the workability and stability of products. It contributes to controlled viscosity, improved texture, and uniform distribution of solids in the final product. In addition, it can reduce the tendency for settling, clumping, or separation during storage and processing.

In manufacturing processes, aluminum stearate offers advantages where consistent product properties and process control are important. It supports a stable formulation and can positively influence the surface properties of the system. For industrial buyers and technical users, it is therefore a functional additive for applications where thickening, water repellency, and process stability are key.
