DOWTHERM® J can be used in the liquid phase at temperatures ranging from -110 °F to 600 °F. In the vapor phase, its operating range is from 181℃ to 315℃. This fluid is ideal for the most demanding single-fluid batch heating and cooling applications.

Dowtherm® J exhibits exceptional thermal stability in both the liquid and vapor phases. DOWTHERM® J heat transfer fluid offers exceptional pumpability at low temperatures, as well as excellent thermal stability, which provides protection against unintended overheating.
Dowtherm® J heat transfer fluid has an extremely low freezing point that can completely eliminate the need for steam heating (although ventilation ducts may still require frost protection). Dowtherm® J exhibits excellent heat transfer properties, even at very low temperatures, with a viscosity of approximately 8 cps at -73℃. DOWTHERM® J heat transfer fluid can also be used in the vapor phase.
Batch processing with DOWTHERM® J heat transfer fluid eliminates the need for system flushing that may be associated with steam-brine and steam-glycol systems. DOWTHERM® J heat transfer fluid is non-corrosive to metals and alloys commonly used in heat transfer systems, providing peace of mind regarding compatibility.
This product is intended for use in a pressurized, closed system with a nitrogen blanket and an expansion tank.
