DOWTHERM® Q heat transfer fluid contains a blend of diphenylethane and alkylated aromatics and is designed for use as an alternative to hot oils in liquid-phase heat transfer systems. Its typical operating range is -35°C to 330°C.
DOWTHERM® Q heat transfer fluid contains a blend of diphenylethane and alkylated aromatics and is designed for use as an alternative to hot oils in liquid-phase heat transfer systems. Its typical operating range is -35°C to 330°C.
DOWTHERM® Q fluid exhibits better thermal stability than hot oils, which is particularly noticeable at the upper end of the operating range for hot oils (at temperatures above 260 °C). In addition, the pumpability of DOWTHERM® Q fluid at low temperatures is significantly better than that of a typical hot oil.
Across the entire operating range, the low viscosity of DOWTHERM® Q fluid contributes to heat transfer efficiency. The film coefficient at 315 °C is 42 percent higher than that of a typical hot oil.
DOWTHERM® Q fluid is also non-corrosive to common metals and alloys, ensuring compatibility with most heat transfer systems.
