Hot fluids such as thermal oil, hot water, boiler water, or feedwater must be sampled and analyzed regularly. It is of the utmost importance to obtain a representative and accurate sample for analysis. Therefore, the sample must be taken at a characteristic point in the hot flow.

However, an open, hot sample changes in composition as it cools in an open container. Volatile components of the sample that boil at temperatures lower than the oil sample’s temperature evaporate from open sample containers.

In the sealed NESS oil sample cooler, the sample is cooled with water, resulting in a representative and accurate sample.
