Therminol® 55

Therminol® 55

Chemical name Synthetic hydrocarbon mixture
CAS Number 84961-70-6

Therminol® 55 is a synthetic fluid used in the fluid phase of indirect process heating systems within the temperature range of -28˚C to +300˚C.

Therminol® 55 is a synthetic fluid used in the fluid phase of indirect process heating systems within the temperature range of -28˚C to +300˚C.

Therminol® 55 exhibits exceptionally high chemical stability compared to mineral thermal oils, resulting in an exceptionally good cost-to-performance ratio. With a viscosity of approximately 300 mm²/s at -10°C, this thermal oil is significantly easier to pump than most other types of mineral thermal oils. In applications where steam was previously used, Therminol® 55 serves as an excellent alternative, requiring a significantly lower capital investment and much lower operating costs compared to a steam system. Therminol® 55 systems are highly versatile and are used in extruders, calender dryers, petrochemical plants, fuel heating systems on ships, storage tank terminals, heat recovery systems, and many other applications in the medium temperature range.
