Therminol® 72 is a high-temperature liquid-phase thermal oil with excellent thermal stability. Therminol® 72 is designed for temperatures up to 380°C in the liquid phase of a thermal system.

A static pressure of approximately 6 bar is required to operate in the liquid phase at higher temperatures. This product is non-corrosive to typical thermal oil systems, is virtually odorless, and has good handling characteristics. The properties of Therminol® 72 make this product ideal for use in the process industry and refining applications, for heat recovery from flue gas, as a coolant to remove heat from exothermic reactions, and for indirect heating or distillation processes. Using Therminol® 72 at temperatures between 360 and 380°C can result in significant reductions in capital costs, as well as lower operating and maintenance costs, compared to pressurized systems that use highly volatile heat transfer fluids.
