Therminol® VP-1 is a thermal oil designed for very high temperatures and offers excellent thermal stability. Therminol® VP-1 is designed for temperatures up to 400 °C and can be used in both the gas and liquid phases of a thermal system. The system requires a static pressure of approximately 10 bar to operate in the liquid phase at high temperatures.

Therminol® VP-1 is a eutectic mixture of 73.5% diphenyl oxide (DPO) and 26.5% diphenyl (DP) and can be used as such in both gas-phase and liquid-phase systems. It can operate in the gas phase at temperatures above 275°C. Since Therminol® VP-1 solidifies as early as +12°C, it is important to install “tracing” (heating of the piping system) on the system components to prevent the oil from solidifying in very cold weather conditions.
