Despite the high quality of this thermal oil, there is a tendency for oxidation at higher temperatures, simply because we are dealing with a pure mineral oil that is “FDA-approved,” making it ideal for use in the food industry. A nitrogen system on the expansion tank is a “must” to further prevent accelerated oxidation. There are simply no thermal fluids that have FDA approval and do not need to be changed regularly.

In the baking industry in particular, many unsuitable products are used in thermal systems, often resulting in severe carbon buildup in the piping system, with all the consequences that entails.
