Rodutherm® W-PGF

Rodutherm® W-PGF

Chemical name Hydrogenated terphenylene and biphenyl/diphenyl oxide

Rodutherm® W-PGF is a clear, colorless, and nearly odorless liquid that is HT1-certified by NSF. Rodutherm® W-PGF must not come into direct contact with food and is not a food additive. Furthermore, unlike Zitrec®, Rodutherm® W-PGF is certified as Halal and Kosher, making it perfectly suitable for use in the food industry.

Typical applications include cooling in the beverage industry, such as cooling wine, beer, milk, and fruit juices. Rodutherm® W-PGF is used in breweries to cool fermentation and aroma tanks.

Rodutherm® W-PGF is used in bottling lines for carbonated beverages as a heat transfer fluid to prevent the liquids from cooling down. Another area of application is indirect freezing. In this process, the products and the heat transfer fluid are separated from each other only by a barrier layer (e.g., a metal panel or packaging material). This contact cooling is primarily used for cooling fish and meat products.

Rodutherm® W-PGF is available as a concentrate and as a ready-to-use mixture. The dilution ratio depends on the system requirements and, above all, on the desired cooling temperature. Mixtures containing more than 60% Rodutherm® W-PGF in water are not recommended because they impair physical properties, such as heat transfer.

Rodutherm® W-PGF is miscible with most conventional propylene glycol-based heat transfer fluids. However, to protect against corrosion, we recommend using it without mixing it with any other fluids.

Rodutherm® W-PGF is a heat transfer fluid based on monopropylene glycol.
The combination of FDA-approved ingredients, low toxicity, and a high corrosion inhibitor content makes Rodutherm® W-PGF a unique product. Only a few products offer sufficient protection in copper or aluminum systems. Because copper and/or copper alloys are widely used in the food industry, Rodutherm® W-PGF provides superior protection. Its anticorrosion performance has been confirmed in standard and specialized corrosion tests.
